Edna Kemble Amos, 88, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, January 13, 2002 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.
She was born in Lafayette, Indiana on July 24, 1913 to the late Walter and Dora Brakefield Kemble and was also preceded in death by her husband, John Amos.
She was a resident of the Blacksburg area for 51 years.
She was a graduate of Radford College and a teacher at Prices Fork Elementary School for ten years.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles E. Amos of Blacksburg, Bruce M. and Hong Amos of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert G. and Jeanette Kemble of Roanoke; grandchildren, Angela Komorowski of Asheville, N.C., Lori Golden of Indianapolis, Ind., Melissa Sowder of Indianapolis, Ind., Angela Thurman of Newport News, Va. and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alex Evans officiating.
Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
