Committal service for Annie " Anna " Leonard , 105, of Aberdeen and formerly of Groton, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Groton Union Cemetery. The Rev. Herb Teitgen will officiate. Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel of Groton is in charge of arrangements.

She died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor.

Annie Mathis was born Aug. 9, 1893, to James Asbury and Sarah Rosetta (Haughn) Mathis in Calico Rock, Ark. She lived there until she was about 16 years old. She came to the Ashton-Mellette area. She worked in a store there for a while. Then she worked as a housekeeper and caretaker for a couple in the Ashton area.

She married Frank Leonard . They made their home in the Ashton-Mellette area. After his death, she moved to Groton. She had been a resident of Avera Mother Joseph Manor since Sept. 2, 1992.

Survivors include one half sister, Irene Heffron of Antlers, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister, two half brothers and one half sister.
