Tom Edd Davis (1942 - 2013)

Tom Edd Davis, 71, passed into the arms of Our Lord on Oct. 1, 2013. He was born (Tommy Ed Davis) Jan. 4, 1942, in Stamford, Texas, to Floyd and June Davis. (He graduated from Abilene High School, Texas with the great class of 1961)

Tom Edd was the proprietor of The Blue Stone for 41 years. He enjoyed rock, stamp and coin collecting. His greatest joy was his family and fishing. He enjoyed "wetting a line" whenever the opportunity came along. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Alamogordo, where he enjoyed selling sodas, popcorn and candy at the football games. He served in many leadership positions as well as President and Kiwanian of the year. He belonged to the Elk's Lodge and was a member and officer of the Rocket City Stamp Club. He also spent 15 years as a math and science teacher and has stayed in touch with many of his past students.

Tom Edd is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy; their four children Terry and wife, Cyrene, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Dr. Steve Davis, of Crestview, Fla.; Kelly Davis, Alamogordo; and Lisa and her husband, Zachary Wright, of Copperas Cove, Texas. His sister Mary Lee and husband, Doug; his brother-in-law, Gary Fromlath and wife, Ginny Sue; and his mother-In-law Mary Fromlath.

His grandchildren Krystal Trull and husband, Dan; Brandon Davis; Matthew Blow; Michael Davis; Elizabeth Wright; Johathan Wright; Emmaleigh Wright. His nephews, Chris Lee and wife Bianca; and Mike Lee. Great nieces Taylor Lee and Niejia Watkins and great nephew Luke Lee.
He will also be missed by his loyal and beloved employees and his Blue Gold Macaw, Ivan, who greets the guests who come into The Blue Stone.

His graveside service will be Saturday, Oct. 5 at Monte Vista Cemetery at 10 a.m. with Pastor Chuck King officiating.

The Davis family will greet friends for visitation at the Hamilton/Odell Funeral Home on Scenic Drive from 6:30-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 to celebrate the life of their beloved Tom Edd Davis. May God bless.
