Jessica Leigh Melzer Chyrek, 28, passed away Dec. 17, 2011, in Destin, Fla., from a seizure at her home.
Jessica was born in San Diego on June 22, 1983, and is survived by her husband, Timothy; and her son, Peyton. She was the daughter of Roland and Patricia Melzer; and sister of Samantha and Derek of Escondido, Calif. She is also survived by her grandparents, Joyce Enos, Helmut Melzer and Mickey Ingalls; and in-laws, Col. (Dr.) Michael and Pam Chyrek of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Karen and Sam Self of New Port Richey, Fla.; and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alexandra; and her paternal grandmother, Gisela Melzer; and grandfathers, James Ingalls and Leo Enos.
Jessica was raised in Escondido. She attended the University of San Diego High School, and The California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. She enjoyed swimming, and earned a varsity letter as a freshman. She was married at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Escondido. The real joy of her life was building a family with Tim and Peyton, which took her to Florida. She had and was admired by many, many friends who loved her and she enjoyed spending time with them. Jessica had a special love for animals, beautiful beaches, people and life. Jessica will never be forgotten.
