Mary (Talty) Burke died on the morning of June 4, 1967 in her home on Westford Street in Lowell. She had been a resident of St. Peter's parish for more than half a century. She was born in Inagh, Ireland, the daughter of John and Bridget (O'Rourke) Talty. She came to the US as a young girl, residing in Ayer for two decades before relocating to Lowell.
She was married to the late Daniel Burke, and was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Murray of Somerville and Mrs. Ethel Fuller, with whom she resided; a son, Richard F. Burke of Chelmsford, and 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Hanrahan in Ireland; and five brothers - Andrew and Joseph Talty in Ireland, John, Michael and Patrick Talty, all living in Brisbane, Australia.
