James Curtis Dawson, 20, born in LaPlace and a resident of St. Amant, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He graduated in 2004 from St. Amant High School, where he lettered in tennis. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University. He was a very loving, outstanding young man and will be missed by many. He is survived by his parents, Curtis Craig Jr. and Gail Bertrand Dawson; sister, Jaclyn Dawson; paternal grandparents, Barbara McNabb Dawson and Curtis Sr. and Carol Dawson, all of Baton Rouge; maternal grandparents, Carl and Bonnie Bertrand, LaPlace; and paternal great-grandmother, Bea K. Dawson of Baton Rouge. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and a special friend, Lauren Root. Visiting at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. John Koehler, celebrant. Burial in the church cemetery.
