Rose C. Fortunato passed away under the loving care of Kobacker House on Saturday, August 24, 2013.

She was born September 6, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York to the late John and Anna Graziano.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted family: her loving husband Vito A., with whom she would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on October 19th; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Thomas Duckworth; her canine grandchildren Elvis, Tessa, Leland; brother John (Susan) Graziano; many nieces and nephews; many beloved friends and family members.

She is preceded in death by her son Paul Thomas; her brothers James and Robert Graziano; and her canine grandchildren Cosmo, Roxy and Bodhi.

Rose was a joyous woman. No matter who she met, they were greeted with a loving smile and a gentle word. And even during her illness, she always put everyone else first by reassuring her family that she was feeling ‘pretty good today'.

It was that joyous spirit that made childhood friends feel welcome to visit and play at their home. And it was that same spirit that gave her that gift of cooking a great meal every time.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, and 9:00 am to 10:30 am, Thursday, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Road, Columbus 43235. Where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 29th, 2013.

Father Mark Summers and Deacon Joseph Schermer will be Con-Celebrating.

A private family interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Ohio Health Foundation, Attn.: Kobacker House, 180 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215 in her memory.

Her family would like to thank the caring and supportive staff of Kobacker House and the McConnell Wound Care for their constant love and support during Rose's illnesses.
