My husband Jack Pettit and I took Dewey to Memphis the day he died. He wouldn't let us take him to his house but let him out on Jackson. Jack was DJ in Millington Tn. Rest in Peace, Dewey.

Dewey Phillips was the best of the best. As a teenager in Memphis I fell asleep every night listening to "Red, Hot & Blue", as I am sure hundreds of others did. I will never forget the night Elvis' "That's alright mamma" was first played. It was played over several times that night.
