Note: The following obit says that my great grandfather, James Lincoln Taylor was full blooded Cherokee. That is not correct. He is Cherokee but he was not full blooded.

James Lincoln Taylor, age 94, 444 Manistee, Detroit, died of pneumonia in the Wayne County General hospital. He was the father of Charles Taylor, 800 Symes, Royal Oak.

A full-blooded Cherokee Indian, Mr. Taylor went to school with Will Rogers and worked for Mr. Rogers' father when he was 16. He was born Sept. 7, 1860 in North Carolina. On April 19, 1895, in Pryor, Okla., he was married. His wife was the late Dora Carty Taylor. Mr Taylor was a retired machinist.

He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Conner, and Mrs. Alice Sawyer, both of California, Mrs. Margaret Rouse of Chicago, Ill.; another son, William of the Manistee address; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Addie Mathews of Oklahoma; and two brothers, William of Oklahoma, and Mack of Tennessee.

The Rev. Frank Cooley of the Church of Christ, Detroit, will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Thursday, at the Sparks-DeMund funeral hime, 317 East Eleven-Mile, Royal Oak. Burial Forest Lawn Cemetery, Detroit.
