John Buntin dies after short illness
Pioneer Passes to His Reward -- Funeral held Tuesday

Following an illness of two weeks from Inflammation of the veins, John T. Buntin, age 79 years and 8 months died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Hutchinson, six miles south of Frankfort, Sunday evening at l0 o'clock. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Scotland church, Q. A. Kennedy officiating. Burial was at the Scotland cemetery.

The deceased was the son of Andrew Buntin and he was born November 1, 1830. He was united in marriage to Jane Bennett and this happy union was broken by death of the wife eighteen years ago.

Three children survive with one brother and one sister. The children are Mrs. Hutchinson, Mrs. Ovid Harbaugh and William Buntin all of this community. James Buntin of Cyclone is the brother and Mrs. Sarah Lane of Indianapolis is the sister.

Mr. Buntin was a devout member of the Methodist church of Kirklin. He was a good citizen and one whose place will indeed be hard to fill.
