He was united in marriage to Sene Maria Olsen in Lucas county on December 5, 1880, and in 1884 the family moved to Decatur county where they have since resided. To this union was born 10 children, Anna Elizabeth, Mary Christine, and two sons deceased. [Surviving] Alma, of Lamoni, Enos and Hiram, Mrs. Minnie A. Gilliland, of Lamoni, Mrs. Bessie Gilliland, of Des Moines, and Grace Lovell, of Independence, Mo.
On August 22, 1908, the mother of the family passed away and the family moved from the farm to Lamoni in 1911.
On May 25, 1918, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Melissa Wasson, who, with the above mentioned children, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren remain to mourn his passing.
At an early date, he became a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints and in May 1908 he was ordained to the office of priest. He loved life. To him, it was an opportunity to serve his family, his church, and his friends. As an officer of the church, he was ever willing to perform any duty which evolved upon him in a humble and sincere manner. He tried to teach his beliefs by setting an example for others and in this, he enjoyed a good measure of success as he was respected by all who knew him.
Services were held from the White Marsh Chapel with Elder Arthur Lane as speaker. Pallbearers were Ed Downey, E. E. Weddle, James Schofield, Earl Lewis, A. J. Yarrington, and Willard Moon.

Funeral Services Today At The Chapel"
Nephi Lovell passed away at his home Tuesday noon after a long period of failing health, due to a heart aliment.
Services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, from the White-Marsh Funeral Chapel, with J. W. Barr in charge. Interment will be at Rose Hill.
Mr. Lovell was born in 1857 in Des Moines county and came to Decatur county when a young man in 1884. With the exception of a short period when he lived in Lucas county, he spent the remainder of his days in this vicinity where he was regarded as a man of sterling qualities, who contributed to both community and church affairs.
