Mrs. Mary M. Benway, 69, of Rock Vale Trailer Court, Janesville, died Monday in Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
Born Aug. 1, 1915 in La Prairie Township, the former Mary Liptow married Joseph Wiskie on Aug. 18, 1934. He died in October 1963. On July 25, 1966, she married Leslie Benway in Rockford, Ill. Mrs. Benway was a longtime Janesville resident.
Surviving are her husband; eight daughters, Pat Marko, Joanne Edmunds and Peggy Rogers, all of Janesville, Yvonne Rindfleisch of Martinez, Calif., Carol Schwengels of Milton, Theresa Robinson of Los Angeles, Mary Jo Straight and Janice Fry, both of Beloit; a son, Bill Wiskie of Janesville; 27 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine Olander of Janesville.
Services will be at 1 pm Thursday in Schneider Funeral Home, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
