She was born on June 26, 1930 in Brockton, daughter of the late Adelbert and Gerlie (Swanson) Smith.
A homemaker, Gloria also worked as a cook at Nathan's for almost 2 years and Joe Star's for several years. In addition, she was a CNA and worked in Florida and Middleboro area nursing homes.
Wife of the late Clyde F. Bonia. Mother of Rebbecca W. Beech of Lakeville, Richard I. of Hyannis, Gerald B. of Pembroke, Lee R. of New Bedford and Matthew P. of Florida. Sister of David F. Smith of NH and the late Edgar, Raymond, Walter and Ralph Smith, Alyse Harmelle and Virginia Spear. Also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much and her pets, Jake, Tong and Orio.
Funeral services on Friday, (July 19, 2013) at 11 a.m. in the O'Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street (corner of School Street) Middleboro.
Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
