Eckroat Sr., 78, of8209 Lakehurst, died today at Mercy Hospital following aShort illness.Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Frid-day at Smith & Kernke Funer-al Home, followed by mass at 9a.m. Saturday at Christ theKing Catholic Church. Burialwill be in Fairlawn Cemetery.Eckroat was a native of Okla-homa City and a graduate of St.Joseph's School. He farmed eastof Oklahoma City until 1927when he moved into Oklahoma City and founded Eckroat Seed Co.He was later a rancher in McClain County while continu-ing to live in Oklahoma City. Heretired from ranching in the1960's.He also engaged in the oil Business during the 1930s. HeWas a member of Christ theKing Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife,Dorothy, of the home; twoSons, William Jr., OklahomaCity; and Arthur V., OklahomaCity; a daughter, Mrs. L. L.(Rosemary) Bachle, OklahomaCity; a step-son, Anthony L.Tambini, Virginia Beach, Va.;Four step-daughters, Mrs. MaryLee Ruelle, Atlanta; Mrs. Doro-Thy Ann Ray, Moore; and Mar-Garet Tambini and Cathy Tam-Bini, both of the home; three Brothers, John, Dan and Paul,all of Oklahoma City; 22 grand-children and 13 great-grandchil-dren.The family has designatedMemorials to the OklahomaMedical Research FoundationAs appropriate.(He is my great grandfather; May Perpetual Light Shine Upon You.)
