Indian Orchard Man Dies, Leaves 167 Descendants


Moses L. Miller, 90, formerly of 146 Hampshire St., Indian Orchard, died Thursday in Mercy Hospital. He leave 167 descendants.


Mr. Miller was born December 25, 1872, in Plattsburg, New York, a son of the late Jeremiah and Harriet Miller and lived in Potsdam, New York, until coming to this city in 1915. He was employed here by Springfield Armory and later by Indian Motocyle Co. In 1923, he moved to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, where he lived until returning to this city 15 years ago. While in Pennsylvania, he was a freight inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad for more than 20 years before retiring.


Mr. Miller leaves 4 daughters, Mrs. Henry Thibeault, Mrs. Lawrence Hand, Mrs. William McIntosh and Mrs. Ernest Dubour, all of this city; 4 sons, Edward of this city, Myron and John, both of Florida, and Lawrence of California; a brother, Bertram, of Black River, New York; a sister, Mrs. Rose Rush, of Texas; 50 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


The funeral will be held at George St. Pierre & Son Funeral Home Monday. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
