Mrs. Blunke died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
The former Dorothy Hettinger was born Jan. 31, 1912, in East Moline, the daughter of Nickolas and Minnie Berndt Hettinger. She married John Blunke Jan. 25, 1932, in East Moline. He died March 17, 1971.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, baking pies and fishing.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Urban DePorter, Carole and John Van Hoe, and Kathy and Jeff Guthrie, all of East Moline; a son and daughter-in-law, John "Skip'' and Mardee Blunke, Silvis; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Hettinger, East Moline.
