Curtis Eugene Phillips Sr. was born March 31,1957 in Wilkes Country, Georgia to Eugene and Lynette (Smith) Phillips. He pasted away on August 8, 2000 after a traffic accident. He was 43 years old.
Curtis was my husband's step father. Curtis was married to Teresa (my husband's mom) for 13 years. They had one son, CJ together. He also had a daughter, Leslie through another marriage. Curtis was a truck driver. He was killed in a trucking accident when a log truck crossed over into his lane. Even though Curtis and Teresa were divorced at the time, it was still very hard on the whole family. He loved football and baseball. He taught his family the love of sports that helped inspire my husband to be a football coach. He was the one that passed on the love of the University of Georgia too.
