Mr. Wells united with the Methodist church at Gettysburg, Penn., when he was nineteen years old and remained an active member of the church until his death. He served for years as an officer of the church and was one of its most liberal supporters. He was not biased in his religious views and gave substantial aid to ether denominations in the community in which he lived. His first presidential vote was cast for Andrew Jackson, but he afterward became a Whig. When the Republican party was organized it received his support and he voted for Fremont and Lincoln. He was a successful farmer and was a man of more than ordinary ability. His integrity stood the test of years and he was respected by all who knew him. His life was full of contentment and was a blessing to those that felt the influence of his Christian gentleness and sterling manhood. The funeral will be conducted from the Methodist church at Stockwell tomorrow morning at 10:30. Rev. E. V. Smith will officiate and the interment will be made in the Stockwell cemetery.
