Listed as teamster on daily duty on Co. returns dated Sept. 30, Oct. 30, Nov. 30, 1862 and Jan. 31, 1863. Deserted March 6, (14,) 1863 at Memphis, Tenn. Found on list of incomplete records at Iowa Adj. Generals office. Living in 1880 at his brother's (Ira M. Arnold age - 37) home in Somonauk, DeKalb Co., Illinois. His age is given as 45, single, and occupation - Veterinary Surgeon. His mother, Dorcas T. Arnold age - 76, is also living in the home. Wesley died as some point between 1880 and 1900 and was buried with his parents at Pratt's Oak Lawn cemetery, Sandwich, DeKalb Co., Il. in an unmarked grave.
