Faye was born to Edwin L. and Dora L. Willison on September 8, 1924 in Logan, Utah. She had three sisters, Hazel, LaVon and Bette; and a brother, Jack. Faye's given name is Helen Faye, but, disliking her first name, she went by Faye throughout her life. Faye attended Woodruff Grade School, Logan Junior High and Logan High School. Living is Southern California during World War II, she joined the ranks of "Rosie the Riveters" working in an assembly line at Douglas Aircraft. She eventually transferred to another aviation company, Lockheed. She also put in stints at a truck stop in Gorman and as a waitress in the resort town of Big Bear. She also served tables in Beverly Hills. She married Dale Olsen on December 24, 1946 in Evanston, Wyoming. Faye and Dale settled in Logan, Utah, where Dale owned a gas station. They welcomed their first child, Karen, in April of 1948. Relocating to Southern California in 1953, they bought a home in Reseda and had their son, James Dale, in January of 1954. After her son started school, Faye got a job at the local drugstore, Call's Pharmacy, where she worked for 21 years. They also lived for a time in Yreka and Hesperia, California. Their last move was to Las Vegas to be close to their daughter and grandchildren. Dale passed away in November of 2011, and the following June Faye broke her hip. Following hip replacement surgery, Faye contracted pneumonia and passed away on July 12, 2012.
