Betty Mae Asbury , 72, Kansas City, MO, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Sheil-Blackman Chapel; burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Institute.
Mrs. Asbury was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Roy Bartee, and one son, Michael Roy. She is survived by her husband, John J. Asbury of the home; sons, John and Debbie Asbury of Independence, SMSgt. David A. Asbury , USAF, Ret., and wife, Sharron, of Omaha, Steve R. and Sherry Asbury of Kansas City; one daughter, Anita and Rodney Bird of Independence; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen and Alvah Baldwin of Virginia, Frances and Oakie Bailey of West Virginia.
