Born March 16, 1927 in Greensboro, NC, he was the son of the late Will and Vera Toomes Aldridge. Jack served his country in the US Army, fighting in the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman until his health declined and he enjoyed watching NASCAR. Mr. Aldridge had worked a supervisor for Wise Construction.
Surviving is his step-daughter, Mrs. Jo Saxton of Darlington, three grandchildren: Richard (Cindy) Saxton, of Florence, Deborah (Don Galloway) Smoak, of Florence, Tina (Larry) Streett, of Darlington; seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Adams.
