Ervin served in the Army, September 13 1951 through September 12 1954. He married Miss Delores Lucille Wilgus in Colorado Springs, CO on January 19 1954. Ervin was the father of five children. He died on September 16 1986 in Richmond, CA. Ervin's immediate family that survived him were his wife of 32 years, Dolores; his children, Sherry, Brian (Ruth), Debra, Kenneth and Michael; and his three grandchildren, Christina, Christopher and Andrew. Ervin was laid to rest in Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette, CA.
