John enlisted on July 26, 1861 at Camp Shaver, Arkansas. John was mortally wounded on November 30th and died in a Franklin Confederate hospital in December, 1864. He was married to Susan A. Boyd who applied for a widow's pension from the state of Arkansas in 1901 while living in Stone County, Arkansas.
