Paternal Grandparents: William G. Armstrong and Jennette Tarkenton. Jennette was his 2nd wife; he was not married in 1850 but had 7 children; he had 2 female slaves. He m. As shown on the death certificate with this memorial, Rev. Armstrong was originally buried in the Maplewood Cem., Wilson, Wilson Co., NC. Apparently his headstone and perhaps his remains were moved to this cemetery. Not sure if this was done before his wife died or if Cleaton, Jr. did it later so that his family could be together.

Son William Rice Armstrong was also originally buried at Maplewood Cem. and eventually his headstone and perhaps remains were moved to this cem.
