He retired from PPG in Mt. Vernon, Ohio and was a Veteran serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He will be missed by his 3 children Brenda (Tim) Poole of Fredericktown, Mark (Lisa) Hauger of Kenya, Africa, and Tim Hauger of Mansfield. Also missing him are his eight grandchildren: Brittany (Cody) Johnson, Heather, Caleb, Cierra and Makylee Poole, Karsten, Tavin and Taleah Hauger.
Gone before him are his beloved parents, Burgess and Ada and sisters, Mary Ann Gallagher, Elizabeth Tharp, and Louise Hockenberry.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-8PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Saturday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11AM and will be officiated by Pastor Russ Gumm of the First Church of the Nazarene, where John was a devoted member. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran's Council, will follow in Amity Cemetery.
