Motion Picture Director, Producer, Screenwriter. He was the director of much popular 80's comedies such as "9 to 5" (1980) starring Jane Fonda, Lilly Tomlin and Dolly Parton, and "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" (1982) starring Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton. He was also the screenwriter for the critically acclaimed unconventional love story "Harold and Maude" (1971). He died of AIDS in 1988.
