DAVENPORT - Services for Alvin W. Stradt, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
Mr. Stradt died Friday at his home. He had been employed for more than 40 years at Norcross, Rock Island, retiring in 1996.
He was born Nov. 23, 1928, in Davenport, the son of William and Hildagard (Ruge) Stradt. He married Elinor Mueller on April 12, 1952, in Davenport. He was a member of the Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed dancing at the Col Ballroom and attending his grandchildren's ball games.
Survivors include his wife, Elinor; his children and their spouses, Susan and Dennis Gordon, Davenport, John and Karen Stradt, Bettendorf, and Karen Stradt and Fred Miller, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Jason Stradt, Corey Stradt, Eric Miller, Robert Miller and Shawn Miller; his siblings and their spouses, William and Ellen Stradt, Bettendorf, Gilbert and Louise Stradt, Hamet, Ga., Amanda Weipert, Bettendorf, Robert and Carol Stradt, Milan, Ill., Alice and Ronald Johnson, Fayetteville, N.C., and Paul and Linda Stradt, Davenport. Preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Stradt, and his parents.
