As a young woman in Jackson, Michigan, she assisted her husband, Lloyd, in the design, construction, and sale of many homes in the local area, all the while raising four children. She also loved to sing and enjoyed cooking and sewing for her children.
She is survived by her husband, W. C. Jackson of Garland, Texas; daughters, Kerry Chenault and husband, Wayne of Plano, Texas and Linda Boroughf and husband, Ray of Jackson, Michigan; son, Jonathan David Strouss of Mesquite, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl Eriksen, James Eriksen, and Gary Eriksen; and sisters, Peggy Voight and Kathleen Eriksen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Lloyd Strouss, and son, Steven Strouss.
Sweet Nancy will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at North Cities United Pentecostal Church in Garland, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
