DAVENPORT - Frieda M. Guldner, of Davenport, left this life to be with her loving husband and son on Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at Crest Health Center, Davenport. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Frieda loved flowers, please feel free to send bouquets in lieu of memorials. Frieda was born Feb. 10, 1903, to Lewis and Elizabeth (Mohler) Spitzmiller. She was united in marriage to John J. Guldner on Oct. 25, 1922, in Davenport. He died on May 21, 1958. She was a lifetime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. Frieda worked as a custodian for many years with the Davenport schools (Monroe and Roosevelt). Frieda enjoyed the outdoors, especially when spending time with her son on the Wapsi. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and working in her garden, and of course, playing bingo. Frieda was a huge sports fan of the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's baseball games and hardly ever missed a game. She worked hard her entire life and purchased her very first home at age 88. Those left to honor her memory include her grandchildren, Mike Guldner, Kurt Guldner, Roberta Murphey, and Roxy Dankert, all of the Quad-City Area; daughter-in-law, Betty Guldner; nine great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Warren "Mike" Guldner, sister, Viola Jorgensen, and brother, John "Lee" Spitzmiller.
