Scotty was born on April 4, 1961, to Sonny and Mardell (Masteller) Havnes in Hoyt Lakes, Minn. He attended school in Wadena. Also, he was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena.
Scotty enjoyed family, friends and music. He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Mandy Havnes Aschittino; granddaughter, Lily of St. Paul; sister, Sher (Jay Wipperling) Kramer of New York Mills; brothers, Jim (Peggy) of Menahga, Loren of Park Rapids and Rob (Cindy) of Wadena; as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Scotty is preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Mardell Havnes. Friends and family are welcome for a graveside funeral on Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. at Green Valley Cemetery in Menahga. Honorary pallbearers are Mandy Aschittino, Sher Kramer, Jim Havnes, Loren Havnes, Rob Havnes, Duane Koskie, Jr. and all who called Scotty a friend.
