Mary "June" Shelene, 82 years and 10 months, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away peacefully into the many arms awaiting her and God's Care on Feb. 21, 2013, at her residence.

She was born April 30, 1930, in Charleston, W.Va., the daughter of the late Porter Andrew and Ival Thelma Heater Cain.

June was a 1948 graduate of PHS. She retired with over 30 years of service from Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Mid-Ohio Valley, where she was executive director. She enjoyed reading, watching birds, especially cardinals and butterflies, and was a member of 36th Street Church of Christ, Vienna, where she dearly loved her Christian brothers and sisters.

She is survived by two sons, David Shelene and his wife, Kim, and Kevin M. Shelene, both of Vienna; one brother, Kenneth George Cain of Titusville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Shelene Shrewsbury, Jordan Ward, Steve Shelene, Courtney Shelene, Emily Shelene, Mackenzie Fitchett and Matthew Fitchett; and five great-grandchildren, Trinity Phillips, Ethan Smith, Lexi Perrine, Vince Shrewsbury and Bennett Ward.

June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest J. Shelene; one daughter, Shawneen June Fitchett; one granddaughter, Maddison Paige Fitchett; and three brothers, Elmer Dale, Porter Ray and Charles Leon Cain.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at 36th Street Church of Christ, Vienna, with Evangelist Tom Butterfield, Mark Mason and Chris Mullins presiding. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, W.Va. Visitation will be noon-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna.
