Keith Allen Reed, 72 of Bethany went through the gates of heaven 1:18 p.m. February 14, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany. Military Rites will be held at 4:00 p.m. at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany by the Bethany American Legion Post # 507. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Keith was born August 26, 1940 in Bethany the son of George and Mamie (Foster) Reed. Keith married his best friend Linda Dick of Bethany on July 31, 1965 in Bethany. He was a member of the Prairieland Frontiersman for over 30 years, and was a member of the Bethany American Legion. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved anything to do with the outdoors. Keith was a loving husband, father and grandfather. The sun rose and set for him in his grandchildren. He was a man of many things, most people will know of him as a person who told it like it was.

He is survived by his wife Linda of Bethany; daughter, Shelly (Josh) Rowley of Hammond; grandchildren, Alijah and Aynslie; special nephew, Josh Dick of Ramsey; brothers-in-law, Stanley Dick of Sullivan and Larry Dick of Decatur and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Carl and Pete Stevens; and sister, Nadine Burton.
