Ms. Sims was born in Halifax County on June 4, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Mr. James S. White and Mrs. Lydia Bailey White.
She was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church.
Ms. Hattie Lee White Sims is survived by two sons, Mr. Keith O. White and wife Cathy of Cumberland and Mr. Kevin Sims of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Ms. Sharon Harvey of Halifax and Mrs. Carolyn Carden and husband Clyde Sr. of Scottsburg; two brothers, Mr. Richard Carlton White of Jersey City, N.J. and Mr. James B. White of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Sims was preceded in death by one sister, Ms. Lydia A. White, and one brother, Mr. Willie Stewart White Sr.
Funeral services for Ms. Hattie Lee White Sims will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. at Banister Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. William F. Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Crawford House chapel in Halifax.
