Uriah died, in Fisher, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Maxey. He had moved from Bond County to live with his daughter 12 years before.

Uriah was a son of Samuel and Anna (Hedrick) Smith. He came to Bond County, IL in 1856 and married Mary Frances Koonce, Nov 6, 1860. They had 3 daughters: May (Mrs. William McMurran), Della (did not marry), and Lenna (Mrs. Albert Maxey).

Mrs. Smith (Mary Frances Koonce) born 1838, Harpers Ferry, Jefferson County, West Virginia, died in 1869.
