He was born to Armond and Lillie Ward Dixon. He lived his early childhood in Henderson and the remainder of his life in Houston and Cushing.
Mr. Dixon was a member of the Sacul Church of Christ where he was also a laborer and minister. He was also a U. S. Army veteran. He also drove a school bus for Laneville and Nacogdoches ISD for many years and was a former member of the Cushing ISD School Board.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Dixon and numerous brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Bessie Fuller Dixon of Cushing; daughters and sons-in-law, Putrina Dixon and Roy Wallace of Henderson, and Debra and Glenn Idlebird of Houston; aunt, Nettie Mae Dixon of Henderson; six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: JarVor Williams, Glenn Idlebird, Jr., Cedric Idlebird, Chris Carter, Alfred Ray Dixon and Johnny Dixon. Honorary pallbearers are sons-in-law and brother-in-law.
