Brattin, a resident of Pacific Grove for the past year and a half, died early yesterday morning in her retirement home after a period of failing health. She was born March 8, 1885, in Tyrone County, Ireland, and during the years of her life in Massachussetts she came frequently to visit her daughter, Mrs. Newton W. (Esther) Buerger, a former resident of Pebble Beach, now of Incline Village, Nev. Mrs. Brattin came in October 1967, to reside in Pacific Grove. In addition to her daughter, she leaves a son, John A. Smith of Palos Verdes Estates; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the J.F. Henderson Memorial Chapel, Everett, Mass. Burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery of Boston, Mass. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
