Samuel Jones TildenJust like Al Gore, you were denied the presidency. Again, and just like Al Gore, you correctly won the presidency by a considerable margin of the popular vote. may you rest in peace on this day of your passing!

I've been thinking about you since November. The US hasn't learned much since 1876. You won the popular vote and should have been president. But you're still remembered as decent, honest and generous which is as much as anyone can ask for. RIP from a very distant nephew.

Just like Al Gore, you were denied the presidency by the criminal, back room dealings of the corrupt Republican Party. Again, and just like Al Gore, you correctly won the presidency by a considerable margin of the popular vote. You would have been considerably better than your Republican foe, who was completely useless.

For someone I believe to be an honest, venerable and decent man. May God Bless and hold you. You should have been President.

Though one must admire Tilden for his nobility in the face of a national tragedy, one doubts that Al Gore or the American people of today feel so kindly disposed at the theft of the last presidential election.

Mr. Tilden, you are a great American. Rest in peace.

Tilden "trusted in the people" and once stated, "when the people rise is when the system gets cleansed"...He was elected by the people in 1876 as our 19th President!

A man who "trusted in the people" and once stated, "when the people rise is when the system gets cleansed"...Also left his millions to build our first free public library (NY Public)...He was elected by the people as President in 1876!
