Mr. Claude A. Caldwell, 97 of the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his home.
Born September 6, 1925 in Meriwether County, Mr. Caldwell was the son of the late William Creed Caldwell and Rosie Faye Donaldson Caldwell. He was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County, was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and was a retired carpenter from Price Exhibits. Mr. Caldwell loved being outside, whether it was gardening or watching traffic go by his house.
Survivors include his sons and daughter in-law, Larry and Fonda Caldwell of Moreland, Terry Caldwell, Ricky Caldwell, and Jody Caldwell all of Rocky Mount; sister, Faye Jackson of Moreland; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Caldwell was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Shelton Caldwell, and a daughter, Wanda Ann Caldwell.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 2, at Bethel Baptist Church in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County. The Reverend Kenny Heinzel, Reverend Donnie Shelton, Reverend TJ Boyd, and Reverend Wayne Settle will officiate and interment will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 2 Monday afternoon.
