We are related through the Jeffreys family, you are my 9th great uncle. I feel that you were wrongly accused of being a bullying, heartless man. I hope you've found peace in the afterlife.Love,Jo Baldwin

Your fearsome reputation is undeserved.History gets written by the winners. You were a man of great ability and did your duty for your King.Your temper was aggravated by chronic painful illness.RIP.

Right Honourable Lord,

with all my heart I pray for you. No one else in British history ever knew such a malicious hatred, but you never deserved it. How could they blame you for just doing your duty. Remaining faithful till the utmost end, living in so much a suffering, dying in so excruciating a pain, you have already redeemed all your faults.

Let God's blessing come unto you. Let the serenity of heaven beguile your pains. I'm still here on earth fighting for your rightful memory and your reappraisal. And please believe I'm not alone.

I have visited the mournful remains of the church where you were destined to find your rest near your beloved family. It was the saddest place I ever saw. But even though your tombstone exists no longer, I still remember the right words written there before:

God seeth not as man seeth.

More misunderstood than anything else, you were an excellent judge and brilliant mind.

Your pain is now ended, I now defend you.
