Minonk- Elizabeth "Bess" Armstrong, 98, of Minonk died at 9:15 Monday (July 1, 1991)at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.

A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk, the Rev. Robert Gilles officiating. Burial will be in Reiley Cemetery, Rutland.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM at the church.

Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, handled arrangements.

Mrs. Armstrong was born Feb. 5, 1893 at Rutland, a daughter of Thomas and Agnes Keenan Patten. She married Melvin Armstrong on July 11, 1925 at Rutland. He died June 17, 1987.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth June Brill, Fox Lake, and Mary Joan Bowman, St. Paul, MN; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

One brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

She graduated from Brown's Business College and served as a telephone operator in Rutland.

Memorials may be made in the form of Masses at the church.
