Born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 4, 1913 to the late Walter and Lenora (Felman) Cornick.
Leonard was united in marriage to Mary Ann Hughes on April 23, 1938 and to this union three children were born. Leonard loved the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, and fishing; he was also a sports enthusiast, he played softball, baseball, bowling and golf, with golf being his favorite sport, he was a charter member of the St. James Country Club and spent a few years there as the Golf Pro teaching golf; Leonard was a devoted to his family and enjoyed every moment he had to spend with them. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Leonard is survived by children, Patricia Ann Morris and husband Bobby Jack, of Linn Creek, MO, Charles Leonard and wife Helen, of St. James, MO, and Sharon Kay Fleeman and husband JR, of Morrisville, MO; grandchildren, David McKeage, Terri Brown, Tracy McKeage, Bryan McKeage, Lori Rivers, Brian Cornick, Karen Smith, Dana Marcee, Damon Bess, and Jason Bess; 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents Leonard was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Mary Ann in 1999; five brothers and three sisters.
