I saw you lose to Tennessee in my 1st NCAA game. The Plainsmen could use your spirit and guidance now in these turbulant football times on the Plains.

When I moved to Alabama in 1971, I like any other Alabama transplant had to choose which team I would support. Like many of my friends at the time I had choosen Alabama.
But in your last season (1975) I told my father that I was going to start pulling for Auburn. It certinally wasn't because Auburn was winning, but I decided to change because when I was around Auburn people I could see the pride that they had in Auburn University. Wins and loses didn't matter. All the mattered was Auburn. And I wanted to feel the same way they did. My father told me that once I changed that I could never go back to being a Bama fan. Thirty years later I still bleed for the orange and blue.
War Eagle!
