Orville Louis Broeker, 86, of Morning Sun died Thursday, February 3, 2005, at Morning Sun Care Center.

Born July 30, 1918, in Morning Sun, he was the son of William Frederick and Mary Elizabeth Tager Broeker. On June 28, 1940, he married Grace Anlucretia Baker in Burlington.

Mr. Broeker was a farmer for 45 years and worked for the Federal Crop Insurance Company, from which he won a state sales award in 1970.

He was a graduate of Morning Sun High School. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Sharlene Grace Broeker of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun.

The funeral for Mr. Broeker will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Dameron officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun.

A memorial has been established for Morning Sun Ambulance Service.
