Richard Anderson, 68, of Mohawk, passed away at his home Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 after a lingering illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Beatrice Hansel Anderson. Richard served his country with the U S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Richard was a loving husband, wonderful father who loved his family more than the world.
He is survived by his wife, Judy McKee Anderson; sons, George (Marsha) Anderson and Chris (Laura) Anderson; grandchildren, Abigail, Cole and Harleigh Anderson, Triston Craft; brothers, Douglas (Sherry) Anderson, Roger (Kathy) Anderson, and Haskell Anderson, all of Greene County; sisters, Peggy (Carl) Fillers of Greene County, Sandra (Eddie) Eidson of Morristown; special friends, Jerry and Shirley Craft, Ronald and Shirley Ray; special godchildren; Gregory Craft, Marah and Samuel Chance; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the east chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the service at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin Wisecarver and Amedysis Chaplain, John McPharon officiating.
The body will lie in state from 10:30 to 11 at Concord Baptist Church. Military Graveside services will follow at Bible Cemetery in Mohawk. Serving as pallbearers are Chris Anderson, George Anderson, Carly Fillers, John Fillers, Scott Eidson and Brandon McKee; honorary pallbearers, Dr. Ken and Carla Nickles, Amedysis Hospice and Durham-Hensley Health and Rehab.
