Mary Margaret Valentine was born January 18, 1858, in Washington Township, Pickaway County, Ohio, daughter of Amos D. and Rachel (Gentzel) Valentine. She was also the granddaughter of Joshua and Margaret Drum Valentine, natives of Maryland and Pennsylvania, respectively. On November 9, 1876, in Pickaway County, she married John Bernard Weider, son of Daniel Albert and Elizabeth Jane Turner Weider. They were the parents of 6 children: Daniel Albert Burton, Charles Nelson, William Clarence, Florence, John Bernard and Asa Bushnell Weider. Margaret passed away November 11, 1898, in Abbottsville, Darke County, Ohio, and was buried in Abbottsville Cemetery there. Following her death, her husband remarried Margaret Heck and lived in Fremont, Sandusky County, Ohio.
