GRATZ - John L. Zimmerman, 81, of 100 S. West St., formerly of Orwin, died Monday in University of Tennessee Medical Center as the result of a traffic accident.

He was retired from Guilford Mills, Pine Grove; was a former employee of Road Cap Trucking and Tallman's Supply Co.; an Army veteran of World War II; a Lutheran; and a member of Orwin Fire Company and the Millersburg American Legion post.

Surviving are two daughters, Muriel Z. Bettinger of Orwin and Betty M. Starnowsky of Harrisburg; three sons, Allen L. of Oklahoma, James R. of Hawaii and John R. of Hummelstown; a sister, Blanche Specker of Palm Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Corl Funeral Home, Tower City. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Orwin.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Wiconisco Street, Tower City 17980.
