Mrs. Grant died Jan. 24, 2007, in a Houston hospital.
She was born April 18, 1929, in Houston to the late Sam and Mae Birdwell. She lived in Magnolia for 13 years and had lived in Baytown. She had worked at Nan Travis Hospital and Nicholas-Kusan in Jacksonville and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Grant Sr., and daughter, Carolyn Grant.
Survivors include son, Garland Grant Jr., Magnolia; daughters, Glenda Elaine Kentfield, Magnolia, Patsy Ruth Mathis, Big Sandy, Shelia Elaine Waldell, Baytown, and Lisa Hicks, Dallas; sisters, Billy Jean Magness and Ruth Terry, both of Jacksonville, and Shirley Warren, Tyler; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Members of the family will serve as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
