Elisha was a blacksmith and a man of note in Northfield, Ma. He served in Capt. Eldad Wrights company of Col. Samuel Williams Regiment, which marched to Cambridge 20 April, 1775 on the Lexington Alarm. He was a Cpl. and Sgt. in Cpt. Moses Kellog's Company, Col. Jonathan Ward's Regiment later. Before Lexington he was a member of a company of minutemen raised in Northfield and Warwick, Commanded by Captain Williams. He soldiered in Concord, Waltham and Cambridge. He served under General Gates at Ticonderoga. After the Revolutuon he served as a major in the Militia.
