Marian was born on June 24, 1955, in Charlottesville, to the late Marion and Robert Johnson. She is best remembered as a writer who aspired to touch others with the word of God through her inspirational greeting cards.
Marian is survived by her two sons, Chic'kon Carter, Zakia D. Carter his wife, Keata D. Carter and granddaughter, Kaiyah I. Carter; a loving daughter, Rasheda Carter; one brother, Raymond S. Johnson and his wife, Joyce Johnson; a niece, Joyce Johnson; two nephews, Anthony Johnson and David Johnson; a great-niece, Ayana Herbert; as well as her loving extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate her memory, was held at Zion Union Baptist Church, 1015 Preston Avenue, Charlottesville, Virginia, Friday, November 16, 2012.
